VIDEO TIPS & MONEY SAVING IDEAS FROM BRIDES & GROOMS

  • Most multi-service companies (ones that offer photography/videography/DJ service) will usually end up costing you much more money than if you were to contract these services independently.  In many cases one or more of the services  provided by a multi-service company are sub-standard as the service has been added on simply to get more business.

WilksVision does one thing..........very, very well.

  • Studios located in large communities and suburbs have a high "cost of doing business" (storefront rent, taxes, etc.).  This overhead will be passed on to you in the form of higher package prices.  WilksVision is located in the quaint town of  Dekalb Illinois which means the lower "cost of doing business" can be passed along to you in the form of lower prices. Dekalb is conveniently located to serve communities and suburbs in North and Central Illinois, Southern Wisconsin, Western Indiana, and  Eastern Iowa.

  • Even though fair, affordable pricing is important, it should not be the only criteria you consider.  You should also:

  • Make sure your service will not be cancelled once it is reserved.  Several suburban studios have been known to cancel a contract at the last minute.  Once your date has been reserved WilksVision will never cancel your contract.

  • Make sure your videographer will not use bright, blinding lights at your reception.  WilksVision rarely uses any supplemental light.  In the few instances it is necessary, only low-powered, subtle on-camera lighting is used.

  • Make sure your videographer will be properly attired.  There are some videographers who actually wear shorts, t-shirts, and sandals at weddings.  With WilksVision you get to choose either contemporary black suit or full tuxedo.

  • Make sure you know who your videographer will be on your special day.  Many companies have multiple part-time videographers and you won't know who will show up.  It is important to know who will be working for you on your special day and to meet them ahead of time.  This will ensure that their work and work ethics match your expectations

  • Make sure you watch a complete sample DVD that is filmed, edited, and created by the person who will be producing your Wedding Day DVD.  Many companies demonstration DVDs are only a few minutes in duration, looking more like a TV commercial or sales pitch than actual weddings.  A WilksVision demonstration DVD is close to two hours in length (you can choose how much or how little to watch) and will allow you to get a much better vision of your own Wedding Day DVD.

  • Make sure your videographer will be using professional quality cameras, audio equipment, accessories, and supplies.  Many companies simply use the same consumer grade cameras that "Uncle Charlie" would, and produce the same disappointing results. WilksVision uses only the highest quality equipment: Canon XL-1s and XL-2 cameras, Sony Mini-Disc recorders, and Panasonic Master Grade recording media.

  • Make sure your videographer will be using Mini-Disk audio recorders.  Many churches have banned the use of wireless microphone systems traditionally used by videographers.  There have been numerous instances where the videographers wireless microphone has caused interference with the church's wireless microphone worn by the officiant.  If your videograher is not allowed to use his wireless microphones he/she will simply not be able to capture quality audio.  WilksVision uses only high quality Sony Mini-Disc recorders.
